Every week, Joe fulfills a lifelong dream of learning to roast coffee at our own local roastery in Canton, Georgia, just down the street from our original location. He ensures each batch of our small-batch roasted coffee captures the unique flavors that make it truly special. But Joe is more than just a passionate roaster; he’s also a proud military veteran whose journey has shaped his love for coffee.

A Conversation with Joe - One of Our Incredible Coffee Roasters:
Question: Can you share your background and how you got into coffee roasting?
Answer: "I’m retired Air Force. I flew airplanes for most of my career. My travels allowed me to enjoy a lot of different coffee. Every country I visited had their own unique way of making coffee. Now it's my turn to help create the perfect cup!"
Question: How did you first come across Bizarre Coffee?
Answer: "My daughter works for Bizarre. She shared with me how special the company was and encouraged me to join the team. That was great advice. Thanks, B!"

Question: What's your favorite coffee roast from Bizarre?
Answer: "I'm a fan of the darker coffee roasts. Right now, I find Jude’s Brew to be the best. It’s roasted a little longer, and I feel the extra time in the coffee roaster brings out a special flavor."
Question: What’s one thing about the coffee roasting process that people might find surprising?
Answer: "When we drop the beans from the roaster to cool, you can hear the bean cracking, smell the great roasted flavor, and see the smoke rising. It’s at that moment you know you’ve roasted a really delicious coffee. The only thing left to do is enjoy a great cup. Senses are satisfied!!"
Question: And finally, what makes you weird?!
Answer: "After a long military career, I’m definitely a creature of habit. Bizarre Coffee has allowed me to relax a bit. Consistency and creativity is a great combo. I just might find the perfect cup."
