How to Brew Coffee with an AeroPress 

What You Need to Brew Coffee with an AeroPress:
  • Coffee Beans: For the AeroPress, we recommend using 18-22 grams of finely ground coffee. 
  • Grinder: A burr grinder for consistent grind size. We recommend the Opus Conical bur grinder and a finely course grind for the AeroPress. 
  • Scale: For precise measurements.
  • Timer: To ensure accurate brewing time. 

Step-by-Step AeroPress Brewing Guide 

1. Heat the Water 75 - 80 grams to a temperature of 190°F to 202°F. This will fill to the top of the 1" in the AeroPress.

2. Grind your Coffee Beans grind 18-22 grams of coffee to a fine consistency. 

3. Set up the AeroPress place a stainless steal AeroPress filter into an AeroPress flow control filter cap. Then attach the flow controlled filtered cap to the AeroPress chamber and place the device on top of a sturdy mug. 

4. Add Coffee & Water pour in your coffee grounds and shake to level. Pour in 75 - 80 grams of hot water.

5. Stirring & Steeping stir well and let brew for 30 seconds.

6. Press Down the Plunger insert the plunger into the chamber and press with slow and smooth pressure. 

7. Continue Plunging when you hear a hiss, accelerate plunging directly to the bottom. 

8. Remove the AeroPress take the device off of the mug and enjoy a freshly roasted cup of coffee! 

Tips and Tricks for Perfecting Your AeroPress Coffee

  • Use High-Quality Specialty Coffee: we recommend trying on our Best Selling Coffees such as our Soulful Medium Roast or our Tropics Dark Roast.
  • Pour Water Slowly: pour the hot water evenly and slowly.
  • Rinse the Filter: rinse you filter with hot water to preheat it and remove any papery taste prior to brewing.
